Kids Book Quest (non-fiction): A Day With series

“A room without books is like a body without a soul.” ― Marcus Tullius Cicero
Books are our constant companions.  Reading is an exercise for our mind, and we need to develop this habit in our children at an early age.

Non-fiction for children

Reading non-fiction is as delightful as reading fiction. Most of you will agree with me.  Introducing non-fiction books to children are important because by reading non-fiction children gather a lot of information about the real world. It even improves their vocabulary. Children will enjoy reading them as well. Reading a true story, reading about science, history,  nature, etc., connects them to the real world.

While first introducing non-fiction, try to bring books that narrate the text/story through beautiful illustrations. This will keep children engaged till the end. One non-fiction book series which I found very interesting and informative for kids is the "A Day with" series.

"A Day With" Series is published by Macawbooks. This is a non-fiction book series and is apt for 6- to 8-year olds. Each book in the series is about 24 pages, and the text is simple to understand.

My friend suggested this book series, and I loved it. This series is about various famous scientists, sports personalities, authors, etc.  I have "A Day With - Scientist" series.

These books are colorful, and the illustrations are beautiful and eye-catchy. These books follow a narrative form where two young children, Tim and Tyra, take us on their journey when they meet different scientists. The books are brilliantly written to provide all the important information about the scientists like where they are born, how they started their journey, how they completed their inventions, how their invention works, and their awards and achievements without boring the children.

Although these are short books, they are very informative. My daughter enjoyed reading them, but I had to explain her some things here and there. Being a 7-year-old, she could read most of the text in these books.

Hope other children will enjoy it too.
